88 to 1 Roulette A new high odds FOBT roulette game paying up to 88/1 Played in William Hill bookies, there are 92 possible outcomes 88 to 1 …
88 to 1 Roulette is an interesting new bookies FOBT roulette game from Inspired Gaming and Big Cat Games that uses 92 positions on four interconnected roulette wheels to pay odds of 88/1. Playable in William Hill betting shops in the UK, 88 to 1 Roulette can be found on the casino section of the fixed odds betting terminals.
First impressions of 88 to 1 Roulette appear confusing, but it’s actually a very basic roulette game with not much more going on than regular 20p Roulette, aside from the extra wheels and the four ‘zeros’ instead of the usual one. This means that the green shapes that represent the zeros pay the same odds as any other number (88/1), rather than there being any kind of bonus multiplier that you may expect to find on similar but higher odds FOBT roulette games, such as Key Bet 500.
The layout of 88 to 1 Roulette is something a little different, the four roulette wheels are stacked as to vaguely appear to make the number 88. Although it doesn’t look too much like two 8’s, it is a better layout than the 100/1 roulette games, where it is a little difficult to keep track of the ball on such a large roulette wheel that is too big for the FOBT screens. The four wheels are laid out so as to have one green shape and 23 numbers each, mixed up in intermittent reds and blacks. The ball rotates between all four wheels every game, with the last few seconds of the spin it remains within one wheel before coming to a stop on a number.
Anyone who has placed a bet before on any bookies roulette game will understand 88 to 1 Roulette, it’s simply a case of selecting your numbers with the chosen chip value. The chips range in value from 10p up to £1, with a minimum of £1 required to spin the ball. You can place your bets on any position on the betting table, with the odds split accordingly.
The maximum bets are limited by the jackpot limit of the machine, which is a maximum win of £500 per spin. This means that no more than £5.50 can be placed on a straight-up bet.
Like with other high odds FOBT (fixed odds betting terminal) games, bets can be simplified using shortcut buttons at the bottom of the screen. These special bets allow you to place bets in larger areas of the table without the need to locate each number individually.
You may recognise several of those special bets from other roulette games, however, interestingly and what is certainly needed, is a neighbours betting grid. I personally like to bet on certain wheels more than others, but for this I need to locate each number individually, which takes time and often draws me away from the game onto something else.
I do enjoy the high odds, low stake roulette games as it is possible to build up a large balance with a relatively small stake, providing your luck is in of course. 88 to 1 Roulette is a good FOBT game in that regard, whether it will have lasting appeal remains to be seen, but for the short-term at least, it’s rather enjoyable.
