The Great Albini slot comes from a relatively small software developer that I don’t think we’ve reviewed here before at StopandStep. Foxium have created a new, magic-themed slot with a very interesting design and some cool looking features.
What makes the design so interesting? Well, it’s done in a 3D manner that resembles a video game in many ways. It’s a very cool idea but unfortunately the graphics aren’t quite as impressive as they could be, but they certainly get my respect for doing something a bit different here. They’ve opted with a standard 5×3 reel setup with just 25 paylines, but as you’ll see down below they’ve offered a way to increase this in order to change things up which is nice to see. The rules are as simple as ever. All you need to do is spin the reels to try and get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols. These can give you either a cash reward or special features as we’ll discuss. The base symbols are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
Interestingly, there’s a pretty significant difference between the value of these symbols with Albini being worth 20x the value of 10, Jack and Queen. Don’t forget you also have a Wild symbol too which can appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. As you might expect, it will substitute for all other symbols in a winning combination apart from the Mystery Box, Free Spins and Lily Wild symbols. It holds no value making a win on its own.
Mystery Box Respin. If you land a full stack of Mystery Box symbols on the middle reel at any point, this feature will be triggered. You’ll be awarded with 3 respins and all of the Mystery Box symbols will be locked in place. Furthermore, any additional Mystery Box symbols that landing in the feature will also lock in place. For every additional box that lands, the number of respins will reset to 3 and this will continue until no more boxes land or the entire reel is full of them. At the end, the boxes will be replaced with random symbols and wins will be evaluated and paid out. They will reveal any base symbol but no Wilds or Free Spins.
Free Spins Bonus. If you land the Free Spins symbol on reels 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously you’ll be given 12 free spins for the Bonus. There’s nothing too special per se about this Bonus, but it can be used to trigger the Lily Feature. Furthermore, you’ll also be playing on a 5×6 layout instead of a 5×3 setup which means you get double the number of paylines.
Lily Feature. During the Free spins Bonus, you can land the Lily Wild symbol on reels 2, 3 or 4 to trigger the Lily Feature. During the feature, all wins are multiplied by 2 and any Lily Wild symbols act as regular Wild symbols. You’ll also be given a number of respins which doesn’t change the number of free spins left.
Bonux Box Feature. The Bonus Box can trigger free spins with the Lily Feature and is readily available for you to purchase for either 8, 10 or 12 spins.
The Great Albini slot from Foxium is a very interesting looking slot with some unusual features that really take advantage of the theme here. We have, of course, seen other magic slots before (not literally mind) like Vegas Magic slot and I have to say it’s one of my favourite themes. But here, they’ve gone with a 3D and realistic-looking design which certainly catches your eye. The Bonuses are mostly OK but nothing too special in my opinion. The Mystery Box Respins feature doesn’t offer much, but it’s nice to have free spins offer a bigger set of reels and provide the Lily Feature which isn’t bad and can also be purchased. With up to 4,000x your bet available and a pretty fun theme, it’s a decent slot but we’ve definitely seen better. Be sure to let us know what you think down below.
