Mega Pyramid slot is another Ancient Egyptian game, this time from Red Tiger Gaming. Its goal is to get you the Free Spins Bonus where the other main feature, which I’ll come onto later, is enhanced. With some good payouts available, it seems like a fairly appealing slot, but is it actually any good and worth your time? Keep reading to find out more.
Mega Pyramid slot, as the name suggests, is one of the many hundreds, likely thousands, the use the theme of Ancient Egypt. If you’ve read some of my other reviews you’ll know how tired I am of this theme, and although the graphics here are pretty good, I just don’t think it does enough to stand out. You have 5 reels here in total, with 4 rows and 30 paylines in total. You need to get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols along these paylines. The base symbols are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
Anubis is an interesting symbol in Mega Pyramid slot because it’s worth a significant amount more than any other symbol in the game. There’s also the Scatter symbol, of course, which is used to trigger the Free Spins Bonus.
Pyramid Eye Feature. This is a feature which is triggered randomly, whereby the pyramid eye will select a symbol which is to be cloned in random directions for the current spin only.
Free Spins Bonus. As I mentioned, this is triggered by the Scatter symbol which can appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. 3 of them will give you 10 free spins for the Bonus. Furthermore, the Scatter symbols can remain in place for a random number of spins when they land, giving you a better chance of triggering the Bonus. If you land another 3 Scatter symbols during the Bonus, you’ll be given another 10 free spins. If you’re wondering if there’s anything else special in the Bonus, fortunately there is. The Pyramid Eye feature is a bit different here, because the random symbol which is selected is active for the whole Bonus. Every time it appears in the Bonus it is cloned.
Mega Pyramid slot from Red Tiger Gaming isn’t one of their most in-depth games nor is it, in my opinion, one of their most entertaining. There are 2 features here, the Pyramid Eye feature which is decent but doesn’t trigger as often as I’d like, and the Free Spins Bonus which makes the feature better but doesn’t increase its chance of occurring so the Bonus may be pretty worthless. Without payouts available up to 5,000x your stake, there is potential for some nice wins but I just don’t think that the game is very fun or worth playing for long periods of time. If you think you might enjoy it, be sure to check it out. You can also see more of Red Tiger Gaming’s slots here.
