Piggy Pirates slot is a fun new addition to the Red Tiger portfolio that promises to be very exciting with their unlimited free spins on offer. With that being the main focus of the slot, I’ll take a more thorough look into this when I discuss the features below to see whether it’s as good as it sounds.
Firstly though, let’s take a look at the design and theme here. Upon starting the game, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the display here, with some great animations and vivid colours that really pop. The Pirate Pigs certainly resemble the pigs in Angry Birds, but I don’t have any issues with that. Overall, this is a pretty unique theme that has been presented brilliantly. To start playing, you simply need to spin the reels to try and get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols. These are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
The symbols are presented on a 6×4 grid, something a bit different to what we’re normally used to seeing with 40 paylines and an RTP of 96.06%. Note that the Wild symbol is only the highest payout symbol in a combination of 6.
Piggy Bonus. The Scatter symbol in this game can be used to trigger the Piggy Bonus. It can land on any reel and then move horizontally by one position with every spin. Once it reaches the end of the reels, then on the next spin it will disappear. Alternatively, the Piggy Scatter symbol could also ‘fall asleep’, in other words, it will stay in the same position until it wakes up. In doing so, you’ll increase your chance of triggering the Unlimited Free Spins Bonus by collecting all 3 Piggy Scatter symbols.
Unlimited Free Spins Bonus. Undoubtedly, this is the bonus that will appeal to most players and is clearly used to draw players to the game, but is it any good? Well, in order to trigger it you must collect all 3 Piggy Scatter symbols. You will then receive an unlimited number of free spins, or rather however many the game wants to give you until the Big Bad Wolf symbol appears. There’s no set cap on when this could happen, but it’s quite clear the unlimited free spins is just a marketing plot. What I would have preferred is an unlimited number of free spins to guarantee a minimum payout, and possible some extra after that. During the bonus, Wild Coin symbols will appear and substitute for all of the aforementioned base symbols. What’s different here is that the Piggy Pirates will collect the coins. You could get lucky here with this bonus and end up with a big payout with all the Wild symbols collected.
Big Bad Wolf. The Big Bad Wolf symbol is used to end the unlimited free spins and will appear on the last reel once the bonus end. On the last spin, all the Wild coins will be released at the same time to give you your payout.
Piggy Pirates slot from Red Tiger is actually one of the most fun slots I’ve played in a while. For a start, the theme coupled with brilliant graphics and colourful designs looks amazing and the animations are great too helping to immerse you in the slot. The gameplay itself is relatively simple and quite clearly focuses on the unlimited free spins. While I find it a bit frustrating that they’ve called it that, it still works very well and does have the potential to pay out very well. Red Tiger have done a great job here overall, creating a fun game with the potential for good payouts. There’s little to fault here, and I highly recommend you give this one a go.
