- Another Halloween slot with a spooky feel to it
- Not as exciting as some but has a few decent features
- Up to 2,400x stake on offer thanks to 2x multipliers
A Dark Matter slot from Slingshot Studios is a new, spooky title in time for Halloween. It has a few features that mainly focus on stacked wilds, but with a 2x multiplier you can also get some decent payouts as well. I have to say I don’t think the design here is particularly captivating unlike some other darker slots I’ve reviewed in the past, but it’s not bad all the same. There are 5 reels with 3 rows, and only 5 paylines in play. You need to get a win from left to right using the base symbols. These are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- 10 (lowest value)
- Jack or Queen
- King
- Ace
- Purple Man
- Blue Woman
- Green Man
- Orange Woman
- Red Man (highest value)
There’s a wild symbol too which substitutes for all other the above symbols, appearing only on reels 2, 3 and 4, and a scatter symbol which pays whenever 3 of them appear in any position. They are available only on reels 2, 3 and 4.

A Dark Matter Slot Bonuses and Features
Stacked Wilds. During the base game, wilds are stacked on reels 2 and 4, and during the free spins bonus they are super stacked.
Invading Wilds. When a wild is stacked on reels 2 or 4, it will then invade an adjacent reel to turn that wild also. If you land stacked wilds on reels 2 and 4 at the same time, then reel 3 will turn wild.
Free Spins Bonus. This is the main bonus of the game, triggered by landing 3 scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. This will then give you 12 free spins. During the bonus, you can land additional scatter symbols, with each one giving you another free spin. During the free spins, a stacked wild on reels 2 and 4 become super stacked. This means that reel 3 will become wild as well as apply a 2x multiplier for some bigger wins.
Conclusion
A Dark Matter slot from Slingshot Studios is another Halloween-themed slot with a dark feel and overall a nice design with good graphics. That being said, I do think some other slots look much more fitting for Halloween like the recently reviewed Ghostbusters slot. There aren’t too many features here and they all revolve around the wilds which can be stacked and also trigger other reels to turn wild also. To get the big wins, up to 2,400x your stake, you’ll need turn reel 3 wild during the free spins which gives you a 2x multiplier. It doesn’t sound like much, but the symbol payouts are pretty decent generally. Personally, I think it’s a pretty good slot overall but not as exciting as some that we’ve seen, nor as rewarding. It could be worth checking out though for some.
