Aloha! Cluster Pays Slot

  • Set along the gorgeous beaches of Hawaii with excellent graphics
  • Cluster Pays offer an additional way to win money
  • Sticky Re-Spins can offer some big payouts

Aloha! Cluster Pays slot is a new addition to the Netent gaming portfolio that is packed with features and a smooth, relaxing theme. The name probably gives away what you can expect from this slot. Aloha is an affectionate greeting term in Hawaii, one of America’s most fun and sought-after destinations with its stunning beaches and feeling of paradise. Netent have really tried their best to bring this fun, cool theme to the stage with great success. I love the vivid colours and gorgeous backdrop, with the symbols representing what so many of us think when we picture Hawaii.

The second part of the title also gives you a hint at what you can expect here. There way ways to win money through clusters of symbols, which I shall elaborate on more shortly, plus lots of additional features to help make the game fun and rewarding. This is a 6 reel, 5 row video slot, with the aim of forming a winning combination using the base symbols from left to right to win money. The base symbols of this game tie in nicely with the overall theme, and are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:

  • Pink Flower, Turquoise shell, Coconut and Pineapple (lowest value)
  • Blue Tiki Mask and Green Tiki Mask
  • Red Tiki Mask (highest value)

There certainly aren’t as many base symbols as we see in most other slots nor as much variation in the value, but this helps keep the game simple and easy to follow. The Tiki mask symbols can appear as small symbols but only during the Sticky Win Re-Spin and Substitution Symbol, and large symbols which count as two small symbols.

Aloha! Cluster Pays Slot Bonuses and Features

Cluster Pays. As I mentioned earlier, and as the title of the game suggests, Aloha! Cluster Pays slot allows you to win through a cluster of symbols as opposed to just your regular pay lines. A symbol is technically part of a cluster if it is adjacent either horizontally or vertically to the same symbol. You must have at least 9 or more of the same symbol in a cluster to award a win. Wins increase the more symbols you have in a cluster, all the way up to 30 symbols (filling the screen) and you can see the rules of the game to find out exactly what each cluster of symbols will award.

Substitution Symbol. This symbol, which has the appearance of a wooden box with a question mark on it, will transform into the adjacent symbol that forms the highest possible winning combination in a cluster. These can appear anywhere on the reels, but cannot substitute for a Free Spin symbol.

Sticky Win Re-Spins. A cluster win can randomly activate Sticky Win Re-Spins, during which the winning symbols are held in place and all other symbols re-spin. During this feature, if the size of the winning cluster increases, then the additional symbols that were added to the cluster also stick and the other symbols will re-spin again. As the payout value increases with the size of the cluster, you have a chance to earn some big payouts here.

Free Spin Symbols. If 3 or more Free Spins symbols appear fully or partially anywhere on the reels during the base game, free spins will be awarded based on how many symbols appeared. 3 symbols will award 9 free spins, 4 will award 10, 5 will award 11 and 6 awards 12. What’s more, additional free spins can be won during this feature, but less free spins are awarded, as 3 symbols award 1 free spins, 4 awards 2, 5 awards 3 and 6 awards 4. Nevertheless, it’s always nice to be able to win additional free spins. The best thing about the free spins feature though is the symbol drop mechanic that removes the low win symbols, meaning a winning combination should be more valuable. If there is no win on the last free spin, you will be awarded an additional free spin until a win occurs.

Conclusion

Aloha! Cluster Pays slot is actually a very fun game that’s simple to play, yet capable of providing significant rewards through various features, a bit like what we saw with White Rabbit slot. I think the cluster pays feature is excellent, and when coupled with the sticky re-spins you have a real chance of getting a decent payout. The theme of the slot is great and likely to appeal to most (who doesn’t want to pretend they’re in Hawaii?), with great colours and fun symbols. So overall, it’s a well-recommended slot from me that I think you will enjoy.
