- Quite a simple, Egyptian-themed slot
- Wilds can be stacked and offer up to 25x multipliers
- Low value symbols really let this slot down
Curse of Anubis slot is a new one from Playtech which has a theme that should be obvious from the title and one that’s unlikely to generate any excitement from most players. Hopefully then, the features will pull this game together and make for something both exciting and rewards.
The reel layout here is a little unusual, with 5 reels but the top reel only have 3. This gives you 50 pay lines, and you need to get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols which are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- 10 or Jack
- Queen or King
- Eye of Anubis
There are wild symbols too, shown as Anubis himself, which substitute for all other symbols in a winning combination apart from the scatter symbols. They can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 but to make things more exciting, they can expand to fill the reels and have multipliers on them up to 25x.

Curse of Anubis Slot Bonuses and Features
Free Spins Bonus. To trigger this you’ll need 3 scatter symbols, shown as the setting Sun. This will give you 10 free spins. Here, any time a wild symbol lands, the position it lands on is saved. If more than 1 wild lands on the same space, a multiplier is added to the space. On the last spin of the bonus, all wilds that landed will appear in their positions, with multipliers up to 10x in each space. This lets you win up to 3,750x your stake.
Curse of Anubis slot from Playtech is certainly a simple game. It has a familiar and tired theme which they haven’t really made to stand out, and not many features either. The base game doesn’t offer stacked wilds which can have multipliers on them though which helps. The free spins bonus is all about the final spin which can pay reasonably well with lots of multipliers, but more often than not it doesn’t pay much at all. The main problem with this slot is the low-value symbols. If this game offered bigger rewards it would be pretty good, but as it is I can’t really recommend it and there are certainly better alternatives out there.
