- A nice dark theme from developer Yggdrasil
- Multiplier trail up to 666x
- Bigger multipliers during the free spins bonus
Devour The Weak slot is a new one from Yggdrasil and they’ve opted for a dark, demon theme. Set in the underworld, it looks very hellish and rather good in my opinion. There are 5 reels on which to play on, offering a total of 243 ways to win. This means you need to get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols. These are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- Jack
- Queen
- King
- Ace
- Blue Demon
- Green Demon
- Yellow Demon
- Red Demon
Devour The Weak Slot Bonuses and Features
Wild Symbol. This game offers a wild symbol as well that substitutes for all others in a winning combination.
Cascades. This game has cascades but they’re a little different to some from other games. All winning symbols are removed as you’d expect. In addition to this though, all symbols of equal or lesser value will also be destroyed. Afterwards, new symbols will fill the empty positions to allow new ones to fall in, potentially creating more wins, all within the same spin.
Multiplier Trail. On the left hand side of the screen you’ll see a multiplier trail. It starts at 1x, and each symbol that’s removed adds a point. 6 points will upgrade you on the trail to the next tier. The multiplier values go all the way up to 666x.
Hexed Symbols. These special symbols come with an orb attached, and those that are removed from the screen contribute to the free spins meter. The positions of these symbols also turn to wilds.
Free Spins Bonus. Once you get 6 hexed winning symbols in the same spin, the free spins bonus is triggered. You’ll have 10 free spins for this, plus 1 more for each additional hexed symbol beyond 10. Once these begin, hex symbols on reel 3 will immediately turn wild when they land. Additionally, the multiplier meter starts at 6x, and this is where it will reset to as well.
Bonus Buy. This isn’t available in the U.K. of course, but if you have the option you can buy the bonus for 100x your stake. If your budget allows for it, you can also buy a much more exciting version of the bonus which gives you 14 to 17 free spins, and your multiplier starts at 33x instead of 6x.
Conclusion
Devour The Weak slot from Yggdrasil is one of the better slots we’ve reviewed from the developer recently. I like the theme and even though it isn’t as visually impressive as some of their games from the past, it still looks good. The cascades are great and work a bit differently to others but the free spins bonus is where things really get exciting with multipliers. They still reset, but back to 6x which means you typically get much higher multipliers than usual. Overall, this slot has been done really well and with a 10,000x win potential, there’s little to complain about.
