- Another Infinity Reel slots, this one from Relax Gaming
- A fairly basic design is a bit disappointing
- Build up multipliers to get the bigger payouts
Emerald’s Infinity Reels slot from Relax Gaming is the latest game to try the Infinity Reels mechanic, something that seems to be getting more and more popular although I’ve yet to find a slot that uses it which I really like. This one is a bit different, and we’ll talk through some of the features very shortly.
Starting with the design though, it’s quite a basic one though it is colourful and pleasant to look at. The 3 reels and set on a waterfall, with a table by the side to record collected symbols. The base symbols in this game are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- Green Gem
- Amber Gem
- Red Gem
- Pipe
- Jug
- Leprechaun
Emerald’s Infinity Reels Slot Bonuses and Features
Lucky Respin. Every time you get a match across the 3 reels, a respin is given. Reels will move to the left, the symbol is collected and the rightmost reel respins. So long as you land the matched symbol, a 2x multiplier or a bonus symbol, respins will continue.
Free Spins Bonus. To trigger this you’ll need 3 or more bonus symbols, giving you 12 free spins. Any additional bonus symbols landing during the bonus will give you 2 free spins each. Here, collected symbols are stored until the bonus ends. You can also retrigger the bonus with another 3 bonus symbols.
Conclusion
Emerald’s infinity Reels slot from Relax Gaming is an unusual one and different from other Infinity Reel slots I’ve tried before. Rather than adding more reels, it effectively removes the first reel to add a new one, but collects symbols while doing so. In order to get some big wins here, you’ll definitely need the help of multipliers and most likely the free spins bonus. The base game tends to offer very little and can be frustrating as the infinity reels mechanic slows things down quite a bit. I’m still skeptical about Infinity Reels, and this slot certainly doesn’t change my mind. I think there are better variations it out there which use bigger multipliers to get the nice wins more quickly. If you like the mechanic, you might want to give it a go, but it won’t be for everyone. You can see other Infinity Reel slots here too.
