- A very simple slot from a smaller slot developer
- Common safari theme that doesn’t really stand out
- Only one main bonus with expanding wilds
Lightning Box have come up with some very creative games in the past which stand out and can be a lot of fun, as well as providing some good rewards. This time with Kalahari Safari slot though they’ve gone for something very traditional and frankly rather dull. You have a very common safari theme which looks OK but doesn’t stand out at all, and not many features either.
To get started, simply spin the reels and try to get a winning combination along one of the 1024 ways to win. You just need to land the right symbols which are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- 9
- 10
- Jack or Queen
- King or Ace
- Drums or Necklace
- Zebra or Aligator
- Lion
In this game, like many others, you have a wild symbol. This is shown as an elephant and it can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. It substitutes for all other symbols in a winning combination apart from the scatter symbol.
Kalahari Safari Slot Bonuses and Features
Free Spins Bonus. Speaking of scatter symbols, this one is used to trigger the free spins bonus, as is usually the case. You need at least 3 of them, although landing more will give you more free spins as 3 only gives you 8, whereas 4 gives you 15 and 5 gives you 20. The scatter symbols is shown simply as a bonus symbol and it also provides a small payout when at least 3 of them appear together. During the bonus, you can land fully stacked wild symbols to help get you more wins. However, these can still only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.
Conclusion
Kalahari Safari slot from Lightning Box is a very simple game, one of the simplest I’ve played in some time actually. There are no special features during the base game, the only thing to look forward to is the free spins bonus but I’m afraid that’s quite underwhelming too. Here you can land fully stacked wilds, but only on the middle 3 reels which is a shame. If you like the idea of stacked wilds, you will probably prefer other slots like Phoenix Reborn from PlayNGo which lets you land stacked wilds on every reel. The payouts are generally mediocre, and the RTP isn’t great either so all in all, it’s not a slot I can personally recommend and I think you will find much better alternatives out there, including other slots from Lightning Box which you can see here.
