Raging Rex Slot
- A fun theme based on terrifying dinosaurs!
- Extra respins for landing fully stacked Wild symbols
- Ability to choose some features depending on your playstyle
Raging Rex is a fun, new game from Play N Go that offers a pretty unique Bonus in that you have some control over how it plays out. I’ll go into more detail on this down below when I discuss how exactly to play the game, but it’s a really nice feature that you don’t often see and I hope more companies start doing this.
The first impression I got from this game was that it’s trying to be fun. The theme of dinosaurs, in particular the T-Rex, is great, and the layout overall is pretty simple. I wish the graphics were a bit better here but I’ve seen worse. You have a slightly more unusual 6×4 set of reels here and these offer an impressive 4096 ways to win, very nice indeed. You just need to spin the reels to try and get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols in a certain pattern to win a cash prize, or trigger a feature. These are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- Blue Fossil or Orange Fossil (lowest value)
- Yellow Fossil
- Red Fossil
- Purple Fossil or Green Fossil
- Mint Dinosaur or Blue Dinosaur
- Green Dinosaur or Purple Dinosaur (highest value)
Oddly enough, there is no single most valuable symbol in the game which is very unusual in my experience. It doesn’t really matter, but it’s something to note. Furthermore, there are 2 other symbols in the game as you might expect. One of these is shown as the ferocious T-Rex known as Raging Rex and this works as the Wild symbol. In other words, it substitutes for all other symbols in a winning combination apart from the Scatter symbol, but does not have any value associated to itself. The Scatter symbol is shown as a flying asteroid and is used to trigger the Raging Spins Bonus.
Raging Rex Slot Bonuses and Features
Rampage Bonus. If you manage to land Raging Rex himself fully stacked and visible on the reels at any time you’ll be awarded a number of free respins. After each respin, he’ll move one position to the left and continue to do so until he reaches reel 1, after which the Bonus is over. As this is a Wild symbol, it can contribute to some extra payouts.
Raging Spins Bonus. This is the main bonus of the game and is triggered by 3 or more Scatter symbols appearing anywhere on the reels. If you land just 3 Scatter symbols, you’ll be awarded with 8 free spins, 4 will give you 15 free spins, 5 will give you 20 free spins and finally 6 will give you the maximum number of 30 free spins. These are pretty generous numbers, and better yet you can trigger more by landing 2, 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols during the Free Spins Bonus. This will give you an extra 5, 8, 15 or 20 additional free spins. There’s no limit to the number of times you can trigger more free spins so you can get a lot of free payouts here. If you activate it instantly you’ll get a 5x bet reward guarantee. If you thought that was all though, think again. There are 2 sub-features available here to help you get better payouts:
- Wild Hunt. Additional Raging Rex symbols (the Wild symbol) can land with multipliers applied to any win and can combine up to a total of 243x your total bet. Not bad!
- Primal Rage. If this feature is triggered, Raging Rex will take up a full reel on every spin. Less potential for big wins, but wins are likely to be more frequent.
In short, Raging Rex slot has a lot to offer most players. What I really admire about Play N Go here for doing is allowing players to choose, to a degree, the level of variance the slot can offer. By being able to choose between 2 different features within the Free Spins Bonus, you can decide whether you want the potential for huge wins with the multipliers, or more regular wins with the Wild symbols. Personally, I prefer the multiplier potential but that won’t be the case for everyone. On top of all this, you get a solid game that’s pretty simple overall but very effective and can offer up to 5,000x your bet which is nice to see. I do think the graphics could have been improved a bit here, but I like the theme and it’s pretty fun so no big complaints from me. Be sure to check it out and leave a comment down below.
