Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold

  • A hugely popular game series from Barcrest and SG Gaming
  • Drops of Gold brings in multiple wilds, with gold acting as a bonus symbol too!
  • The high roller option can award up to a massive 200 winlines!

Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold is the latest Rainbow Riches themed slot machine from SG Gaming, under the Barcrest badge. It’s an unusual slot to start with, but after a while you may come to enjoy playing Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold, despite the lack of bonus features that you may be used to seeing from previous Rainbow Riches slots, and there’s a lot of them.

The base game is played on 50 fixed win lines, with stakes ranging in value from 20p, up to £2 per game in the bookies on their fixed odds betting terminals. As always, the choice of stakes are more varied online, you will also be able to play without the £500 capped jackpot that is on the FOBT’s, as well as enjoy a higher percentage payout. If you do prefer to play bookies slots in the betting shops, Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold is available in Coral and Ladbrokes. Online, it is available at multiple casinos, including players favourite; Casumo.

Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold Game Play

The slot itself starts off looking very straight forward, but it does actually require a bit of a learning curve. The base game uses 50 win lines across five reels. The symbols are very similar to most other Rainbow Riches slots, with the usual 10, J, Q, K and A. The more premium symbols are a harp, horseshoe, violin, toadstool and the super stacked Rainbow Riches. As there are 50 win lines, the values of the wins can be very low, as is the case with many other high win line SG Gaming slots, such as Himalayas.

Above the main reels are a series of pots overlaid on rainbow coloured reels. The pots are predominantly silver, although scattered amongst them is the occasional gold pot. Each spin moves the pots down one level, until they fall off the screen. For the most part these pots are worthless, as they only come into play when the fifth reels shows a Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold symbol. When the symbol lands, the pots are transferred onto the base game reels, overlaid upon the symbols in their current position. The silver and gold pots both act as wilds, however the gold also includes the bonus symbol, so it can trigger a bonus as well as the value of the wins it is creating.

Occasionally the Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold bonus symbol will result in no win, or very low valued wins, it all depends on the pots that are on the upper screen.

If a silver pot is transferred onto the base reels over a scatter symbol, the pot will turn gold so you don’t lose that symbol.

The Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold bonus usually doesn’t actually do too much, even though the upper reels are independent of the lower. However, you can gamble your winnings for the chance of the free spins (more on this later).

Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold Free Spins

The free spins bonus is triggered via landing three or more scatter symbols anywhere in view. Three scatters awards 8 free spins, four is 12 and five is 16. The bonus can also be awarded from the Drops of Gold symbol bringing in gold pots which will convert to bonus symbols if the bonus then becomes available.

The bonus is played on the same reel set as the base game, however it can pay on up to 100 winlines. The 100 winlines can be awarded when the Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold symbol brings in more pots, which occasionally results in some huge wins. The slot generally pays very little with each spin, with the occasional very large win, so you may need a lot of free spins to get any real value from this bonus.

Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold Gamble and High Roller Spins

The gamble is optional and can be applied to any win, increasing its cash value or free spins value. Five pies, divided into green and red will be displayed, each with varying odds. The value of the potential win will be shown below each pie. It’s possible to gamble up to a maximum of 100 free spins, or the jackpot. The maximum amount of gambles per round is 10, after which the slot will automatically collect any winnings. You may also part-bank your winnings which will act as insurance should you lose.

Like most slot machines, the gamble on Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold is true odds with a long-term 100% payout.

High Roller Games

The High Roller Games (Big Bet) are optional bets that will award a higher RTP for committing to a higher stake game. The bookies fixed odds betting terminals increase the RTP from 91% on £2 play, to 93% on all of the High Roller stakes. All stakes award a fixed amount of spins of five, not including any potential free spins bonus.

£20 High Roller Game: This stake doubles the height of the Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold bonus symbol.

£30 High Roller Game: This stake removes all of the lower valued card symbols and also includes a double height Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold symbol.

£50 High Roller Game: This costly option removes all of the lower paying symbols (10 – A), doubles the height of the Drops of Drop symbol and uses up to a massive 200 winlines!

High roller games can get costly very quickly. If you are playing in the bookies, the £500 cap makes the £50 stakes a risky option, although the chance of up to 200 winlines may draw you in.

Rainbow Riches Drops of Gold is a very good slot, although it is so different from any other Rainbow Riches game to date that it might be off putting for some.
