Rise of Olympus slot from Play N Go is another Greek-mythology based theme that kind of reminds me of Kronos Unleashed slot from SG Gaming, but there are certainly many differences especially in terms of the gameplay but I’ll come onto that a bit later on. Play N Go have certainly tried to make this game a bit unique though in the way some of the features work and all in all, it ties in nicely with the theme and I think most people will enjoy it.
The graphics here are pretty good, nothing too flashy but it’s certainly to a high enough standard to compete with most slots. The layout is certainly quite interesting, with a 5×5 grid, multipliers and a bonus meter. Your job is to spin the reels to try and get a winning combination using the base symbols, and you could be rewarded with either a cash prize or a bonus. These base symbols are ranked in ascending order as follows:
- Blue Lightning Bolt or Green Trident (lowest value)
- Red Helmet or Yellow Harp
- Any Hades, Poseidon or Zeus symbol
- Hades, Poseidon or Zeus

Rise of Olympus Slot Bonuses and Features
The Wild symbol, as well as being the most valuable symbol in the game, also substitutes for all other symbols in a winning combination. The interesting thing to note here is that you need to match 3 or more of these symbols in a row or vertically, so just bare that in mind. What’s also interesting is that Rise of Olympus slot also has an avalanche-type feature whereby winning symbols will be removed from the reels and the above symbols will drop down. When this happens, a multiplier will be applied and will increase each time.
Hand of God. This is a nice little feature that can occur randomly on a non-winning spin. There are 3 Gods, each with a different feature:
- Hades. He has the ability to turn any set of symbols into a different symbol to hopefully give you a win.
- Poseidon. He can create up to 2 Wild symbols.
- Zeus. The ruler of Gods is able to remove 2 sets of symbols.
Wrath of Olympus. You’ll notice a meter on the side of the reels which is filled up with wins due to the God symbols. A 3x win will fill up 1 section, 4x win 2 sections and 5x win all 3 sections. When this is full, the aforementioned abilities of the Gods from the Hand of God feature will all activate to give you a much higher chance of some significant wins. You cannot re-trigger this feature.
Free Spins. The last bonus of the slot is unsurprisingly a free spins bonus, but with quite a lot going on. You must clear the reels in order to trigger the bonus, and you can then choose from 3 different options:
- Hades. Offers 4 free spins, with a chance to win 4 more.
- Poseidon. 5 free spins, with a chance to win 3 more.
- Zeus. 8 free spins, with a chance to win 2 more.
During the free spins, each non-winning spin will activate the Gods ability, and you can accumulate a multiplier of up to 20x. By charging up the meter, you can also win additional free spins up to a maximum of 20.
Conclusion
I have to say that Play N Go have done a great job with Rise of Olympus slot. It’s definitely got a lot of nice features, some of which are pretty common but they’re all done in a way that works well with the theme of the Greek Gods and the slot as a whole just works well. What I would have liked to have seen is some ways to earn bigger wins, things like the 20x multiplier limit could be improved on I think but you can expect a lot of regular, smaller wins so that’s the compromise really. I think a lot of people will have fun and make some decent many with this game so be sure to give it a try.
