While they aren’t the biggest name in the business, that hasn’t stopped them from producing a high quality slot with some great features and an original design. Sound good? First there’s the design which I really like. It’s not the flashiest, but it’s bold, bright and colourful, and the theme isn’t overused at all which I like. You have a very standard 5×3 set of reels with 20 paylines, and you must spin the reels to try and get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols. These are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- Jack or Queen (lowest value)
- King or Ace
- Green Gems
- Blue Gems
- Red Gems
- Logo (highest value)
The Logo symbol is the only symbol that also pays for just 2 along a payline as opposed to 3. In addition to these, the Wild symbol is available which offers the same payouts as the Red Gems symbol oddly enough. It also substitutes for all other symbols apart from the Bonus symbol and, of course, the Logo symbol.
Rocky’s Gold Slot Bonuses and Features
TNT Bonus. There are 2 symbols, an explosive device and a pile of TNT, which can appear only on reels 3 and 4. When the appear next to each other, they’ll trigger this Bonus. Rocky will then choose a low value symbol and all of these will then turn into a high-value symbol. He’ll continue to do this until he blows himself and the TNT symbol up.
Wild Bonus. Rocky can do many things in this slot, and one of these is trigger the Wild Reels Bonus on any random losing spin. He can then appear on the reels, throwing different types of dynamite onto the reels to turn them Wild. Different types of dynamite you say? There are 3 different types that have different effects. One of these is the single dynamite which will replace just one symbol with a Wild. Multiple dynamites will replace more that one symbol with Wilds, whereas the Big Stick is a massive stick of dynamite that can turn a huge chunk of symbols into Wilds.
Pay Dirt Bonus. This is the main Bonus in the game which can be triggered with as few as 2 Scatter symbols. IF you do only get 2 anywhere on the reels at the same time, you’ll be given the option to choose a symbol. This will either give you a cash reward, or trigger the Pay Dirt Bonus with 5 free spins. If you land 3 of them, you’ll just be given the Bonus with 10 free spins, 4 will give you the Bonus with 15 free spins and 5 will give you 20 free spins. So how does the Bonus work? Well, at the start of some free spins you’ll be able to pick a reel modifier which will be applied to the next spin. These can be Wild Reels, Multipliers and Locked Modifiers. A Locked Modifier will just lock the previous modifier in place for the next spin. Furthermore, if you manage to get 2 modifiers, they will be multiplied together.

There are 2 main features during the base game that keep things interesting and are triggered in different ways. Neither are likely to give massive payouts, but they’re fun and keep you ticking over. That’s until you get the main Bonus which you can trigger with just 2 Scatter symbols which I like. This has a few features within it that can offer some nice payouts, but this is a fairly medium variance slot so bare that in mind. All in all, this is a fun and original game that I would definitely recommend.
