Sword Symbol. In this game, you don’t just have a wild symbol, you have a wild scatter symbol and this still substitutes for all other symbols in a winning combination apart from expanding symbol wins. In addition to this though, 3 of them are needed to trigger the free spins bonus.
Random Reel Heights. The number of rows on each reel changes in this game at random. You can have as few as 2 positions on a reel, all the way up to 7 symbols, a bit like Megaways really, but there are only 5,040 ways to win.

Conclusion
Sword of Shoguns slot from Thunderkick obviously draws a lot of inspiration from the numerous ‘book of’ slots out there from other developers, though at least they haven’t copied the same name. There’s not much going on in the base game which is a shame, all you really have are wilds. The main bonus offers a fairly typical ‘book of’ bonus with expanding symbols, but you can get up to 4 of these at a time which is nice to see. With a maximum win potential of 25,200x your stake it’s not a bad game if you like this sort of bonus, but I’m not sure it does enough to stand out when there are so many direct competitors.
