Turn It Up slot comes to you from Push Gaming who are really trying to raise the heat here with a loud and eccentric theme. We’ve actually recently reviewed a slot with a very similar theme called Spinal Tap slot, which I recommend you check out. This game, however, isn’t quite as in your face or loud, in fact to me the design is a little bit childish. Even though the graphics are fine, in fact they’re pretty good actually, I just don’t think the style is right and it seems to make the theme lose its appeal somewhat whereas you should feel like your listening to Metallica or something. I think they were trying to appeal to a wider audience, but I’m not sure if that was the best move.
Fortunately though, Turn It Up slot makes up for the design (which I will admit is purely my opinion) when it comes to the gameplay. They’ve really tried to go for something different here using reel enhancers to quite literally enhance the game and stand out from the crowd. It certainly works, and I’ll come onto them in more details shortly. Aside from that, we do still have the basic 5×3 layout and a pretty good 96.51% RTP. When it comes to playing the game, you must spin the reels in order to win a bonus or cash prize by getting a winning combination using the base symbols from left to right. These are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- Diamonds, Spades, Heart or Clubs (lowest value)
- Guitar
- Drums
- Microphone
- Green Man
- Blue Woman
- Red Man or Wild (highest value)
The Wild symbol appears only when the Wild Symbol Conversion Enhancer is applied, not also serving as the joint most valuable symbol but substituting for all other symbols in a winning combination.
Turn It Up Slot Bonuses and Features
Reel Enhancers. This can be applied at the start of any spin, and if not selected, one will be chosen randomly for you. If there are no wins on a spin, you will make your way up to collecting the selected enhancer. A winning spin will remove all of the progress made towards an enhancer thus far. The reel enhancers are as follows:
- Wild Symbol Conversion Enhancer. When this is collected, all highlighted symbols on the next spin will convert into Wild symbols giving you a better chance of getting more wins.
- Symbol Removal Enhancer. When this one is collected, all of the highlighted reels on the next spin will be removed from the reels.
- Multiplier Enhancer. When this enhancement is collected, a value as indicated will be multiplied to any wins on the next spin.
Free Games Feature. This is the main bonus of Turn It Up slot, triggered by 3 bonus symbols landing anywhere on the reels. You will be offered a number of free spins, during which you will collect a reel enhancer at the end of every non-winning spin. These will be removed once the feature has ended.
One More Win! This gives you a chance to be awarded additional free spins and collect further reel enhancers until you land a winning spin, once all of your initial free games from the Free Games Feature have ended.
Win Spin Bonus. This is another way to collect reel enhancers, whereby during the base game this bonus may be triggered which will collect multiple reel enhancers for you.
Conclusion
Turn It Up slot from Push Gaming initially looked to be a bit childish and I have to say, I had my doubts. There’s nothing wrong with the design, and the graphics are pretty good, but it just looks a bit childish to me and I don’t really like that. That being said, the gameplay is very interesting and immediately made me realize the potential for Turn It Up slot. The use of reel enhancers is a very welcome change to an increasingly large number of boring slots with the same mechanics. Combing these 3 different enhancers with a free games bonus, as well as chances to increase each of the main features is very exciting and makes the game far more engaging than most. The main downside is that it’s not especially rewarding, the variance is pretty low so for those looking for big wins you might want to look elsewhere. With an RTP of 96.51% though, it’s a very good option for those of you looking to make smaller profits with lower risk and comes well recommended by me.
