- A new slot from Eyecon with a great theme
- Wild symbols double all wins they are part of
- A low RTP and dull free spins bonus let the slot down
Eyecon have recently released a new game call Wacky Waves and, as the title may suggest, it’s set on a lovely beach packed with all kinds of surfers who all happen to be animals. It’s a fun design I have to say and quite original which is always a good thing. Of course, more important than this is the feature set but we’ll come onto this in more detail soon. To get things going, all you need to do is spin the reels, of which there are 5 with 3 rows each. You just need to get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols which are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- Blanket or Sandals
- Suncream or Umbrella
- Toolbox or Surfboard
- Koala Bears
- Bird
- Kangaroo
- Hedgehog
Wacky Waves Megaways Slot Bonuses and Features
Wild Symbol. There is a wild symbol as well, shown as a great white shark and it will substitute for all other symbols in a winning combination apart from the scatter. Whenever it does take part in a win, it will also double the value of that win making it even more valuable.
Free Spins Bonus. In order to trigger this, you need to land 3, 4 or even 5 scatter symbols anywhere on the reels at the same time. These are shown as a platypus. 3 scatters will get you 15 free spins, 4 will get you 20 and 5 will get you 25. You can retrigger these up to a maximum of 15 times.
Conclusion
Wacky Waves slot from Eyecon is certainly one of the simpler games out there, both in terms of design and features. I have to say that even though the design doesn’t really blow me away, it’s fun and easy on the eye which is nice. The main feature here is the wild symbol which doubles all wins in both the base game and free spins. The free spins are disappointing though and they don’t offer anything extra. I think the only time this is really acceptable is when there are a huge amount of free spins on offer, say 100, but here you can only get up to 25. The RTP isn’t great either at just 95%. All in all, there isn’t much reason to play Wacky Waves slot in my opinion. I think it needs some extra features and probably an RTP boost as well.
