Do you like Evolution’s Live Casino Games? Here’s our top 5!
Evolution Gaming has revolutionised the online casino world. In the prehistoric days (pre-2006), casino fans had to make do with playing table games against some computer software, which – quite frankly – was a rubbish experience. Firstly, because the graphics were so uninspiring and secondly because computers can cheat. OK, so the computer probably never cheats, but try telling yourself that when it hits a perfect 21 five times in a row!
But I digress. In 2006, Evolution Gaming came along, letting you play against live dealers over the internet. Suddenly, you could interact with a real-life croupier, and watch a real roulette wheel spin round, and watch real playing cards get dealt out. It was a game-changer!
13 years later, Evolution Gaming is still in the vanguard of live-streamed casino games, and they come up with new titles every few months. All of their games are innovative, most are entertaining, but which are the best? Here’s my top 5:
Monopoly Live
Evolution has recently (April 2019) released a Monopoly version of their popular Dream Catcher game. As always, there’s a spinning wheel and a glamorous presenter, but this time with a backdrop of a mega-city and an animated Rich Uncle Pennybags gyrating around after every spin. Assuming you qualify for the bonus round, the top prize is a rather nice half a million quid. But Monopoly Live is also a good choice for low-stakes players since you can try it out for just 10p a spin. What’s more, as Monopoly Live is a low variance game, this one is ideal for a relaxed evening of gaming.
Side Bet City
Do you feel like playing a hand of poker, but – like me – have no friends? Then Evolution has the solution, with a range of poker-based titles, which are played against a live dealer. You can choose from Caribbean Stud and Three Card varieties, but my current favourite is Side Bet City. This one is an unlimited multiplayer game, so you won’t have to hang around waiting for a place at the table to become available. Essentially Side Bet City involves betting that a 3, 5, or 7 poker hand comes up. You will be looking for classic hands such as a Royal Flush, Straight Flush, Full House and so on, and you can even bet on none of these hands being drawn. It’s a hell of a lot of fun, and the neon ‘80s vibe is so in right now.
Infinite Blackjack
Blackjack is another traditional card game which Evolution has embraced and improved upon. I find that the key to a nice game of blackjack is the personality of the dealer, and Evolution’s blackjack croupiers are knowledgeable, welcoming and utterly charming. You almost get the feeling they want you to win. Almost. My favourite Evolution version of the game of 21 is Infinite Blackjack. This one lets you play alongside an unlimited number of fellow players, with very low limits. This is perfect for me as I am not exactly an MIT maths whizz, so £1 a hand works great while I am learning the ropes.
Lightning Roulette
Roulette is perfect for Evolution’s High-definition live streams. The red, black and gold wheels look great on my gaming laptop, and the clattering sound of the white ball speeding round never fails to send a tingle down my spine. And there are several ways to play roulette at Evolution, with immersive, speed and classic being particularly popular. My favourite is the Lightning Roulette variety, which is a wonderfully gaudy mash-up between roulette and slots. The roulette spins are pretty standard, but there are multipliers triggered by a random number generator which can boost your winnings by up to 500x.
Lightning Dice
Nothing could be simpler than playing dice, and Evolution’s Lightning Dice is a simple but fun companion game to their Lightning Roulette title. On this one, you must guess the total number of 3 rolled dice – which is of course very similar to Sic Bo. But as an exciting twist on the classic Chinese game, Lightning Dice also features randomly generated multipliers, where selected totals qualify for certain multipliers, going up to 1000x. It’s a lot of fun, and the multipliers mean this dice game has the potential to bring you some epic wins.
These are my top 5 Evolution Gaming titles. But what I love about this company the most is that they are always innovating and are not afraid to take risks on new casino concepts. Sometimes it doesn’t work (in my view, their recently released Deal or No Deal Live falls into this category), but with so many Evolution tables at the best online casinos, there is always something new to try. What are your favourite Evolution Games? As always, I look forward to reading your thoughts in the forum.
