- A unique slot that focuses on stacked symbols
- Get up to 20 stacked symbols on each reel
- Not too exciting but it’s original and quite good
Mystic Staxx slot is a new and rather simple game from Red Tiger, though it is quite different and may appeal to those looking to try something more unusual. Unfortunately what isn’t unusual is the theme and design where you have yet another Asian theme with familiar symbols. The graphics are pretty good though and it’s not the most boring slot I’ve ever seen.
You’ll see that you have an 8×6 set of reels with 40 pay lines, and I have to say I would have thought there’d be a few more. The RTP is just under 96% as well so it’s fairly average. All you need to do is spin the reels and try to get a winning combination from left to right using the base symbols. These are as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- 1 Coin
- 2 Coins
- 3 Coins
- 5 Coins
- 6 Coins
- Green Lantern
- Purple Lantern
- Blue Lantern
- Red Lantern
There is a wild symbol as well which substitutes for all other symbols in a winning combination as well as being the most valuable symbol on its own.

Expand Symbols. One thing you’ll notice in this game is that all symbols land in stacks of 2 symbols high. What you want to do is land space 3×3 expand symbols on the screen which, when in full view, will increase the stack size of all symbols by 1. Every time the expand symbol lands, this will continue, adding 1 to the size of the stack until the maximum number of 20. Once you manage to do this, the expand symbol will turn into a 3×3 wild symbol, substituting for all others in a winning combination.
Conclusion
Mystic Staxx slot from Red Tiger Gaming has a bit of a confusing name as you might think it’s related to the series from Netent, but it’s certainly not. It does have a nice feature though whereby you stack symbols so that hopefully, when you get a number of same-symbol stacks next to each other, you get some decent wins. The maximum payout though is only 2,000x so don’t expect anything crazy, and the game can be quite slow which is a shame. I’m also not a fan of the overused theme. Personally I prefer the original Staxx games from NetEnt, though I do have to applaud Red Tiger for trying something different and thinking outside of the box.
