- A fun, cartoony slot from Yggdrasil with a spooky theme
- Up to 10x multipliers for matching reels
- The jackpot bonus offers up to 500x jackpots
Trickstar Spins by Yggdrasil Gaming is a 3×3 slot with a quirky and unique design. It’s horror, but certainly not with the intent on appearing dark or scary as it offers more of a cartoon look which really helps it to stand out. For a game that’s far more twisted, check out some of the offerings from No Limit City which will keep you up at night. Back to this game though, the simple 3×3 layout gives you just 5 paylines. In order to get a win then, you have to spin the reels from left to right using the base symbols to get a winning combination.
Trickstar Spins Slot Bonuses and Features
Full-Reels Multiplier. When all three reels display matching symbols, the total win is multiplied by a random multiplier ranging from 2x to 10x.
Second Chance Respins. If two reels are filled with matching symbols but no winning combination is formed, the game awards 3 respins. During these respins, the matching symbols on the two reels remain sticky, while the third reel spins independently. Each new matching symbol that lands resets the respin count to 3, increasing the chances of achieving a full-reel match and triggering the Full-Reels Multiplier.
Jackpot Bonus Game. Landing a special Jackpot symbol during the base game can trigger the Jackpot Bonus Game. In this feature, players draw cards from a deck, aiming to match three cards of the same type to win one of three jackpots:
- Mini Jackpot: 15x the bet
- Medium Jackpot: 50x the bet
- Mega Jackpot: 500x the bet
Conclusion
Trickstar Spins is a fun and rather unique-looking game from Yggdrasil with a fun, haunted theme. The set of features on offer are relatively small, with a multiplier feature offering multipliers up to 10x for matching symbols, second chance respins and a jackpot bonus game which can trigger on any spin allowing players to draw cards in order to win jackpots up to a modest 500x. I found the game enjoyable for a short time, and it’s clearly designed for more casual players rather than high rollers. That being said, the max win potential of just 800x is still quite low, and with the features being pretty basic and no free spins bonus to look forward, playing this one for long periods of time isn’t really worthwhile. I’d love to see a more volatile sequel at some point as there are some great ideas here, but the execution feels a bit off.
