Wish Upon a Leprechaun Slot

  • A feature packed slot from Blueprint Gaming in bookies and online
  • A selection of random base game bonuses, as well as five scatter symbol bonus games
  • This Irish themed slot has multiple stakes available, including Fortune Spin on the betting terminals

The Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot is the latest slot machine to feature on Betfred and William Hill’s fixed odds betting terminals (FOBT’s), as well as many online casinos including Casumo. As it is created by Blueprint Gaming, you could reasonably expect the Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot to be packed with bonus games and random features. In that respect you won’t be disappointed, playability wise however, it is very disappointing.
My game-play on the Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot was in William Hill betting shops, with a starting balance of £200 and a stake of £2 per game.

Usually with slots you can expect a reasonable return, or at least some kind of entertaining game-play with that amount of spins. The Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot however was just bad from start to finish. Granted, the percentages on the bookies slots are lower than online, but as a whole, the slot was just terrible from start to finish.

Unlike many other Blueprint Gaming games, the Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot does not award a bonus re-spin with two scatter symbols when played on £2 stake. This automatically makes hitting a bonus slightly more difficult. There are however a host of random bonuses which can appear during any spin to help increase your chances of a good win or a bonus. These are awarded via a lucky Leprechaun on the side of the screen, in much the same way as the King Kong Cash slot behaves.

There are six Lucky Charm modifiers in total:

Infectious Wilds:

They Think it’s all Cover, Super Spin:

Spin Streak:

Bonus Boost:

Colossal Spin:

Clover Spin:

Although there are no bonus re-spins when played on £2 stake, Blueprint have taken a slightly different route and added some extra bonus symbols on the reels, with also increased chances of mystery bonus games. As I hit so few, I wouldn’t want to see how poor it plays on the lower stakes.

As well as the mystery bonuses during the base game, the Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot can award one of five bonus features, awarded via three or more scatter symbols on any of the reels, anywhere in view. Rated in order of their apparent value, they are:

Chests O’plenty:

Nags T’riches:

Clovers Rollover:

End of the Rainbow:

Big Money Bonus:

The lowest rated bonus, and by far the worst is Chests O’Plenty. It’s so bad in fact that it shouldn’t even be in the game. Blueprint would have done better to either remove it, or make the bonus hit rate slightly higher so it could award more. As it stands, it actually makes the Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot seem a terrible game to play. The maximum the bonus can award is £100, but you are far more likely to win £2 – £7, and that’s on £2 stake!
The YouTube video looks like it has put a lot of people off playing it, and I completely understand why.

As it stands, I wouldn’t recommend the Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot in the bookies, it just has zero playability, even the sound effects are from Slots O’ Gold!

Wish Upon a Leprechaun Fortune Spins

Fortune Spins are the high roller slot spins in Betfred and William Hill betting shops. They are the equivalent of Mega Spins in Coral and Ladbrokes and are on most fixed odds betting terminal slots, and a lot of new online games.
The Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot has Fortune Spins from £10 up to £50, with each increase in stake awarding a further multiplier; £20 = x2, £50 = x5. The way they award their bonus is slightly unique, with a set of 15 spaces, each of which can hold one golden clover. Each spin increases the amount of clovers, which progress along a rainbow, with each step awarding more Fortune Spins. The last five positions add to the bonus features as listed above. A full screen of clovers will award Big Money. As you can gather, you are far more likely to win Fortune Spins than any bonus, and as the lowest rated bonus is pretty worthless, you would often be better with 10 Fortune Spins.

The Wish Upon a Leprechaun slot is the worst slot I have played in the bookies for a very long time. Online isn’t much better from personal experience, but what do you think?
