Elk Studios have created a new slot for us in the form of Ecuador Gold slot which is clearly based on Indiana Jones. It has a few features including the ability to get lots of ways to win, giant symbols and a fair few Wild symbols. On top of this you have cascading symbols whenever you get a win. Sound good? One thinks I really don’t like is the look of Ecuador Gold slot. The graphics are pretty bad, the symbols are poor and the theme just doesn’t really work. I do like how the symbols are behind the pillars to the side, giving a 3D kind of look, but that’s about it. However, I appreciate that this is very subjective and also not that important; what matters is how well it performs. Ghosting Wild Feature. This is shown as a type of Sun symbol and can be pretty valuable. It can drop down at any time on reels 3, 4, 5 or 6. If it does so, it will then move to several positions and leave Wild symbols in its place, hopefully giving you a few extra wins.
Avalanche Feature. So this is certainly not the first slot to use this type of feature which goes by various names depending on the slot. It’s quite simple, it just means that whenever you get a win, the symbols that formed that win will then explode leaving a gap. This gap is filled in with new symbols from above. If a new win is formed from these symbols, they too will explode and thus you create an avalanche effect. These additional wins do not count as a new spin and cost nothing.
Free Drops Bonus. This is triggered by 3 or more of the Bonus symbols. The number used to trigger the Bonus will determine how many free drops you get. 3 will give you 10 free drops, 4 will give you 15, 5 will give you 20 and 6, the maximum, will give you 25. This Bonus is a bit different and focuses on getting you more and more ways to win. The Bonus starts with the safety level set to 4 rows, the number of rows that are in play that is. For every new drop that ends up in a win, the number of rows will increase by 1, as will the number of ways to win. This can continue until 8 rows are in play and there are then 262,144 ways to win, a significant number! 5 Rows will give you 15,625 ways to win, 6 46,656 and 7 117,649 in case you were wondering. Another part of the Bonus is the ability to get Giant symbols. These come in various sizes being either 2×2, 3×3 or even 4×4 in size and can drop down in any symbol drop. The bigger symbols clear the way of smaller ones as they drop.
Conclusion
Ecuador Gold slot from Elk Studios has a few enticing features to it. For one there’s the huge number of ways to win available through the free spins which can go all the way up to 262,144 when all 8 rows are available. Secondly, there’s the fact that massive, and I do mean massive symbols can land during the Bonus, being as large as 4×4. Aside from that, things are fairly standard although by no means bad.
