It’s Magic is a new game from IGT with a magical theme and some popular features. I’ll come onto these in more detail shortly, but it’s fair to say with extra Wilds, free spins and jackpots all on offer, this game has something for most players.
The design is a bit lacklustre, with relatively poor graphics and little in the way of animations or anything exciting really. I do like the theme overall, set in a magical kingdom somewhere that looks almost Disneylike, I just wish they made more of an effort with the graphics. You have a 5×4 reel set-up here with a pretty healthy 50 paylines. Your goal is to get a winning combination using the base symbols from left to right to try and get a bonus or a cash reward. These base symbols are listed as follows, ranked in ascending order based on their value:
- 10, Jack or Queen (lowest value)
- King or Ace
- Fox, Monkey or Cat
- Lamp, Chest or Book
- Lilly The Magician (highest value)
The Witch symbol is a bit unique here as it pays for adjacent symbols regardless of its reel position. Additionally, it also pays for just a winning combination of 2, unlike any other symbol.
It’s Magic Slot Bonuses and Features
Wild Reel Feature. This can be triggered after any spin, with the Fox, Cat, Monkey, Lamp, Chest and Book symbols all having the ability in any position to transform that reel into a Wild reel during the next spin at the same value as the original bet. The Wild reel means all symbols on that reel will substitute for any other symbol in the game apart from the It’s Magic Logo symbol, giving you a better chance at getting a win overall. Wild reels are saved separately for each bet level, and do not transfer to free spins for the next base game spin.
Free Spins Bonus. Just like most slots out there today, It’s Magic slot has a free spins feature which is triggered by the It’s Magic Logo symbol. You’ll need at least 3 of these on different reels at any one time to trigger the bonus, with the number you get deciding how many free spins you’ll be awarded. You can see on the rules section of the game just how many free spins you get, but it starts at 10 for just 3 symbols and goes all the way up to 45 free spins for landing 20 symbols. This might sound like a lot, but considering that landing 20 symbols is almost 7x the amount of 3, I would have hoped to have a considerably larger number of free spins for so many symbols being acquired. You should also note that if a Wild symbol covers an It’s Magic Logo symbol, it will still contribute to the Free Spins Bonus.
Magic Wheel Bonus. This is the final bonus of the game and possibly the most exciting. On any base game spin where the Free Spins Bonus is not awarded, Lilly The Magician can appear to trigger the Magic Wheel Bonus. You’ll be given a single spin of the wheel if this happens, where you can land on a segment that will give you either a cash prize, a Grand Jackpot or a Royal Jackpot. The cash prize segments will multiply the value shown but your current coin value, whereas the other slices will give you the corresponding jackpot.
Conclusion
It’s Magic slot from IGT is a pretty simple game but it has most of the components that people look for in a slot. There’s a Free Spins Bonus of course that can give you quite a few free spins if you’re lucky (although no other feature like an added multiplier which is a bit disappointing). Then you have the ability to turn reels into Wild reels at random using certain symbols in the game, and finally a wheel which can give you some big rewards including jackpots.
